Nigeria: Number Portability, Subscribers and Operators

Baring last minute change, the much delayed Number Portability (NP) in the telecommunications industry would kick off in Nigeria this year. According to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the NP will start in August and would give the subscribers the freedom to accept and reject their service providers at will. Subscribers will acquire the ability of switching from one network to another using the same phone and not losing the previous number.
